About the program EduRankAI invites applications for the position of AI Alignment Intern to join its Artificial Intelligence Research and AI Alignment team. This fulltime internship is designed for students and recent graduates who are passionate about Artificial Intelligence, AI Alignment, Responsible AI, Large Language Models LLMs, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, AI Ethics, AI Safety, HumanCentered AI, and frontier AI research. As an AI Alignment Intern, you will contribute to research focused on ensuring that advanced AI systems consistently behave in accordance with intended objectives, human values, educational integrity, and pedagogical principles while supporting the development of trustworthy AIpowered tutoring, assessment, and research platforms across the EduRankAI ecosystem. As an AI Alignment Intern, you will collaborate with AI researchers, machine learning engineers, education researchers, and product teams to investigate, implement, and evaluate techniques that improve the alignment of intelligent systems with desired educational outcomes. Your responsibilities will include researching AI alignment methodologies such as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback RLHF, Constitutional AI, preference learning, instruction tuning, reward modelling, and model evaluation frameworks assisting in designing and conducting smallscale alignment experiments supporting the development of evaluation datasets and benchmarking methodologies defining measurable characteristics of aligned tutoring behaviour analysing model responses for consistency, truthfulness, helpfulness, fairness, and pedagogical integrity documenting experimental methodologies, limitations, and research findings conducting literature reviews of emerging AI alignment research contributing to internal research papers and technical documentation participating in alignment roadmap discussions and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve the reliability, transparency, and educational effectiveness of AI systems. Applicants should possess a strong foundation in Python programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, statistics, probability, linear algebra, and software engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with Large Language Models LLMs, Generative AI, Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback RLHF, Constitutional AI, preference optimization, supervised finetuning SFT, RetrievalAugmented Generation RAG, prompt engineering, AI evaluation methodologies, Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Git, Jupyter Notebooks, research workflows, or experiment tracking platforms will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory. Candidates with academic research, AI competitions, opensource contributions, research publications, hackathons, or personal projects related to AI, responsible AI, machine learning, natural language processing, or educational technologies are strongly encouraged to apply. Throughout the internship, participants will receive structured mentorship, continuous technical guidance, exposure to frontier AI research methodologies, and opportunities to contribute directly to realworld AI alignment initiatives. Interns will gain practical experience in AI alignment research, responsible AI practices, model evaluation, preference learning, prompt engineering, research methodology, experimental design, technical writing, collaborative engineering, and ethical AI development while helping build reliable and trustworthy AI systems for education. The internship is primarily conducted onsite at the EduRankAI campus with structured mentorship and collaborative research activities. The internship is primarily conducted on-site at the EduRankAI campus with structured mentorship and collaborative research activities. Remote participation may be permitted only in exceptional cases with prior organizational approval. Interns will contribute to live AI alignment research projects while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, documentation standards, research ethics, responsible AI principles, engineering best practices, and project timelines. Participants will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct alignment experiments, evaluate AI systems, document research findings, participate in technical discussions and literature reviews, and support the continuous improvement of trustworthy AI models. Successful completion of the internship will be evaluated based on technical competency, research quality, analytical ability, documentation standards, collaboration, innovation, ownership, consistency, professionalism, and overall contribution throughout the internship.
