About the program EduRankAI invites applications for the position of Data Engineering Intern to join its Data Engineering and Platform Infrastructure team. This fulltime internship is designed for students and recent graduates who are passionate about Data Engineering, Big Data, Database Systems, ETLELT pipelines, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, and scalable data infrastructure. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will contribute to building and maintaining the robust data pipelines that power analytics, business intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, research, and operational systems across the EduRankAI ecosystem. Your work will help ensure that data is collected, transformed, stored, and delivered efficiently, accurately, and securely to support datadriven decisionmaking and AI innovation. As a Data Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, AI researchers, data scientists, business intelligence professionals, and platform teams to design, develop, and optimize reliable data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining ETL Extract, Transform, Load and ELT Extract, Load, Transform pipelines, designing and improving database schemas, supporting data warehouse development, integrating structured and unstructured data sources, monitoring pipeline health and performance, troubleshooting data processing failures, optimizing SQL queries and data workflows, implementing data validation and quality checks, automating recurring data processing tasks, supporting workflow orchestration, documenting pipeline architecture and technical processes, maintaining data governance standards, collaborating on cloudbased data infrastructure, and contributing to scalable and reliable enterprise data platforms. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of Python programming, SQL, relational database management systems, data structures, algorithms, database design, and software engineering fundamentals. Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle Database, or similar relational database systems will be considered an advantage. Knowledge of ETLELT concepts, Apache Airflow, cron scheduling, data warehousing, cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform GCP, Git, Linux, Docker, APIs, data lakes, Apache Spark, Kafka, or distributed data processing technologies will also be beneficial but is not mandatory. Candidates with academic projects, internships, hackathons, certifications, opensource contributions, or personal projects related to data engineering, databases, cloud computing, or backend development are strongly encouraged to apply. Throughout the internship, participants will receive structured mentorship, continuous technical guidance, code reviews, engineering best practices, and exposure to modern enterprise data engineering workflows. Interns will gain practical experience in ETL pipeline development, database optimization, workflow orchestration, cloudbased data infrastructure, SQL performance tuning, data quality management, technical documentation, collaborative software development, and scalable data platform engineering while contributing directly to live production data systems. Interns will contribute to live Data Engineering and platform infrastructure projects while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, documentation standards, engineering best practices, data governance principles, and project timelines. Participants will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, optimize database performance, monitor production data workflows, prepare technical documentation, participate in technical reviews, and support continuous improvements to enterprise data infrastructure. Successful completion of the internship will be evaluated based on technical competency, engineering quality, analytical ability, documentation standards, collaboration, ownership, consistency, professionalism, and overall contribution throughout the internship.
