Application Development Engineer, Full Stack, Google Cloud

As a member of the Google Cloud Consulting Professional Services team, you will play a crucial role in guiding customers through their cloud journey and helping businesses thrive. Your work will involve transforming and evolving businesses by leveraging Googles global network, web-scale data centers, and software infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work on specific projects that are critical to Google's needs and collaborate with key strategic Google Cloud customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Being a trusted technical advisor to customers and designing and building complex applications. - Demonstrating versatility and enthusiasm in tackling new problems across the full stack to drive technology forward. - Maintaining the highest levels of development practices, such as technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, and issue resolution. - Writing clean, modular, and self-sustaining code with repeatable quality and predictability. - Creating and delivering best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations tailored to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders. - Being willing to travel up to 30% of the time depending on the region. Minimum qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering. You should also have experience with front-end technologies like Angular, React, TypeScript, and at least one back-end programming language such as Java, Python, or Go. Additionally, experience in maintaining internet-facing production-grade applications and troubleshooting problems across various services and functional areas is required. Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL and Db2 is also necessary. Preferred qualifications for this position involve experience in developing scalable applications using Java, Python, or similar languages, including expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Experience with different types of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Graph) and unit or automated testing tools like Junit, Selenium, and Jest are desired. Knowledge of DevOps practices, deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes), and open-source server software (e.g., NGINX, RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch) will be beneficial for this role.
