Application Engineer, Full Stack

Role Overview: As an Application Engineer at Google, you will lead all aspects of web development, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. In this role, you are expected to act like an owner, take proactive actions, and innovate to meet user and customer needs. You will design, develop, and test to address the application needs of Google's internal customers, working on various projects and business processes while continuously learning new technologies and leading multiple projects and teams across the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Implement various software products and software development life cycle (designing, building, and testing) of internal applications that support internal business processes related to financial planning and analysis. - Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex problems effectively. - Partner with internal business teams to develop the system and delivery road maps, ensuring deliverables with repeatable quality and predictability. - Set the technical direction and priorities for a small number of adjacent engineers. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience in designing and integrating internal and third-party applications. - Experience in driving engineering and architecture strategies. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. - Experience with cloud platforms. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. - Experience with financial planning and analysis or equivalent areas in finance engineering. - Proficiency in working with web-scale databases and building data pipelines capable of aggregating and processing millions of events per day. - Experience in integrating custom-built solutions with vendor product offerings, particularly integration with finance business processes. - Familiarity with Cloud development, especially Google Cloud and its related technologies. - Experience with Anaplan and SAP.
