About the role
Role Overview: Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Google combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. As an SRE, you will ensure that Google's services, both internally critical and externally-visible systems, have reliability and uptime appropriate to users' needs while maintaining a fast rate of improvement. Your role will involve managing the complex challenges of scale unique to Google, utilizing your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design. Key Responsibilities: - Own availability and performance for key products, ensuring a great user experience for global users while supporting a high rate of change. - Support production for Play Games related services and design solutions. - Manage evolving product features and provide tools, training, and consultation to development teams taking on new production responsibilities. - Participate in part of an on-call rotation with a 5-minute on-call response time. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - 1 year of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, Java).
