About the role
Role Overview: Google's software engineers are responsible for developing cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize how billions of users interact with information and each other. As a software engineer at Google, you will work on vital projects that cater to the company's ever-evolving needs, with the flexibility to explore different teams and initiatives. The role demands versatility, leadership qualities, and a passion for solving complex problems across the full technology stack. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement solutions in Play backend and storage systems (Boq). - Collaborate with team members from the Games Multiplatform team in California and Cambridge, as well as partner teams (Play Developer Console, Play Monetization, Play Platform) and across functions (PM, UX, TPM) on project prioritization and execution. - Provide mentorship for more junior engineers on the team. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience. - 5 years of experience with software development in Java programming languages with data structures/algorithms. - 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products. - 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Additional Details: The Play Games Multiplatform team at Google is dedicated to expanding Google Play's accessibility to desktops, allowing users to enjoy a variety of Android and Native games. The team, spread across 4 sites, is driven by ambitious goals to establish trust among users and developers on a new platform. They are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial team member who thrives on tackling challenging problems and has a deep interest in the gaming industry and technology intersection.
