Position : Sr. Hadoop Administrator

Job Duties :

Under limited supervision, install, configure and support large scale, complex Hadoop environments; utilize advanced theoretical concepts to analyze complex business process and design solutions for better scaling, reliability, capacity, performance and manageability; coordinate all Hadoop environment builds; install, configure and upgrade Hadoop components in platforms; develop, document and adhere to database standards, guidelines, procedures and policies; perform Big Data database administration, including backups, recovery audits and implementation; maintain and administer large scale environments including hardware, software storage and configurations; import, export and manage data; implement remote replication; coordinate complex code deployment and performance optimization; configure, deploy and manage various messaging systems; deploy and verify code in production; collaborate with application teams to install system and Hadoop updates; provide support to developers; perform code review; mentor/assist less experienced team members with the above, as necessary; and use the following tools: UNIX, Oracle, Hadoop, Hortonworks, HDFS, Hive, MapReduce, Sqoop, Pig, Storm, Spark, Kafka, SQL, HTML, Java, C, C++ and related tools.

Minimum Qualifications Education

• Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

• Experience : Two (2) years of experience as Database Administrator, Database Architect, Data Warehousing Specialist, BI Analyst or in a related occupation;

• Other Requirements :

• Experience must include two (2) years of work with UNIX, Hadoop, Hortonworks, HDFS, Spark and Kafka; must be willing to relocate.
