About the role
As an Assistant Manager Continuous Improvement in the Manufacturing Excellence department at the company, your role is crucial in identifying, planning, executing, and sustaining continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations and contract manufacturing partners. You will utilize data-driven analysis, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and shopfloor engagement to enhance quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and execute CI projects from identification to implementation and sustenance - Support sitewide training on new processes, procedures, and Lean manufacturing - Develop Value Stream Maps (VSM) for all manufacturing lines - Optimize processes and analyze process and equipment variation - Lead major Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) projects - Drive Kaizen, PDCA, Gemba walks, and waste elimination initiatives - Evaluate process capability & equipment capability (Cp, Cpk) - Implement and monitor SPC, Gage R&R, and statistical analysis - Capture MIS data and present manufacturing KPIs and dashboards to management - Conduct Pareto analysis to identify root causes of variation - Optimize changeover and setup time across equipment and SKUs - Analyze inbound material variability and collaborate with vendors for improvement - Partner with Manufacturing, Packaging, Automation, Quality, and IT (Oracle) teams - Support process automation, system enhancements, and BI dashboard development - Plan and execute horizontal replication of best practices across India and globally - Drive wastage reduction, yield improvement, line speed enhancement, and uptime People & Leadership Responsibility: - Lead and mentor a CI team and influence cross-functional teams - Set performance goals for self and team aligned with CI roadmap - Delegate effectively and ensure accountability - Monitor productivity, provide coaching, feedback, and follow-ups - Actively support shopfloor cultural transformation Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Manufacturing / Operations - Six Sigma Green Belt certification (mandatory) If you have a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, hands-on expertise in Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, SPC, DMAIC, and experience with VSM, TIMWOODS, Kaizen, PQCDSM, proficiency in MS Office, statistical tools, SPC software, and Oracle, along with excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, this role is ideal for you. With 7-10 years of hands-on experience implementing CI initiatives at the plant level and a background in Pharma, Nutraceutical, Food, or FMCG manufacturing, you can make a significant impact on manufacturing performance and culture.
