About the role
Were looking for a highly experienced and strategic Test Automation Architect with 10-15 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will take complete ownership of the testing and quality assurance landscape, defining the test strategy, designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, and leading a team to ensure the delivery of high-quality software across web, API, mobile, and thick client applications. Responsibilities Framework Ownership : Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust, and reusable test automation frameworks from the ground up for web, API, mobile, and thick client applications using Selenium , Java , and other modern tools. Strategy and Planning : Define and lead the overall test strategy, test plans, and test execution for complex, large-scale systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and project timelines. Technical Leadership : Act as a technical expert and mentor for the QA and development teams. Guide them on best practices for test automation, coding standards, and continuous quality improvement. Tool and Technology Evaluation : Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in test automation, including AI/ML-driven testing. Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms to enhance efficiency and coverage. CI/CD Integration : Drive the integration of automated tests into the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins or similar. Ensure automated quality gates are in place to support a fast and reliable release cycle. Cloud Testing : Architect and implement test environments and strategies for applications hosted on AWS services, leveraging cloud-native testing solutions and a deep understanding of the AWS ecosystem. Performance and Security : Define and oversee strategies for performance, load, and security testing to identify potential bottlenecks and vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle. Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and DevOps, to embed quality throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10-15 years of experience in software testing, with a minimum of 5 years in a Test Architect or Lead Test Automation role. Deep expertise in Java and a strong command of object-oriented programming principles. Extensive experience with Selenium WebDriver for web automation and a strong understanding of its ecosystem (Grid, etc.). Proven experience in designing and building test automation frameworks for various application types (web, mobile, API). Experience with API automation frameworks (e.g., Rest Assured) and tools (e.g., Postman). Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools like Appium . In-depth knowledge of AWS services as they relate to testing and application deployment (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda). Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI , or similar. Proficiency with build tools such as Maven or Gradle . Expertise with version control systems, especially Git . Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change
