Data Center Mechanical Data Analyst – Remote (Contract, US-based)

Responsibilities

Analyze telemetry data daily to detect anomalies, trends, and potential risks in critical mechanical systems

Review and investigate overnight incidents and alerts, prioritizing based on urgency and impact

Validate and interpret data signals using Kusto (KQL) and visualization tools such as Grafana or Power BI
-
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and subject matter experts to gather context and drive investigations to resolution
-
Communicate clear, concise findings and updates to cross-functional teams and stakeholders during live incidents
-
Document incident findings, risks, recommended actions, and maintain rigorous data hygiene and tagging standards
-
Identify and escalate data quality issues, supporting improvements to monitoring and detection logic
-
Provide end-of-day status updates, ensuring ownership and accountability for open items

Required Skills and Experience
-
Minimum 4 years’ hands-on experience in data analysis, operations, or incident review within data center or critical environments

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex telemetry data, identify trends, and interpret system signals
-
Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for data querying and signal validation
-
Proven experience building dashboards and extracting insights using Grafana or Power BI
-
Strong communication skills for real-time updates and cross-functional teamwork

Deep understanding of mechanical systems (cooling, HVAC, infrastructure) in high-availability environments

Preferred Skills
-
Familiarity with monitoring systems, telemetry pipelines, and alerting frameworks

Experience supporting incident investigations and structured problem-solving in ambiguous environments

Exposure to electrical systems (in addition to mechanical is a plus)
-
Python proficiency is beneficial but not required
