Data Center Mechanical Data Analyst – Remote (Contract, US-based)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze telemetry data daily to detect anomalies, trends, and potential risks in critical mechanical systems

  • Review and investigate overnight incidents and alerts, prioritizing based on urgency and impact

  • Validate and interpret data signals using Kusto (KQL) and visualization tools such as Grafana or Power BI

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and subject matter experts to gather context and drive investigations to resolution

  • Communicate clear, concise findings and updates to cross-functional teams and stakeholders during live incidents

  • Document incident findings, risks, recommended actions, and maintain rigorous data hygiene and tagging standards

  • Identify and escalate data quality issues, supporting improvements to monitoring and detection logic

  • Provide end-of-day status updates, ensuring ownership and accountability for open items

  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ hands-on experience in data analysis, operations, or incident review within data center or critical environments

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex telemetry data, identify trends, and interpret system signals

  • Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for data querying and signal validation

  • Proven experience building dashboards and extracting insights using Grafana or Power BI

  • Strong communication skills for real-time updates and cross-functional teamwork

  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems (cooling, HVAC, infrastructure) in high-availability environments

  • Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with monitoring systems, telemetry pipelines, and alerting frameworks

  • Experience supporting incident investigations and structured problem-solving in ambiguous environments

  • Exposure to electrical systems (in addition to mechanical is a plus)

  • Python proficiency is beneficial but not required
