Test Engineer Level 2 – Goleta, CA
[About the Role] Join a leading technology team in Goleta, CA as a Test Engineer Level 2. In this onsite role, you’ll play a pivotal part in designing and executing advanced product testing for innovative devices. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments, leverage state-of-the-art tools, and support high-impact projects in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Multiple shifts available for greater flexibility.
[Responsibilities]
- Design, develop, and implement effective testing methods and equipment for standard and specialized devices.
- Plan, coordinate, and arrange test schedules, resources, and equipment to meet project timelines.
- Integrate products with test tooling, software, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Execute thorough product testing, ensuring accurate data collection, reduction, and reporting.
- Analyze and define changes to procedures, equipment, and processes based on test results.
- Produce technical documentation and contribute to test reports and procedures.
- Participate in internal and customer-facing reviews, presenting results and insights.
- Apply modern testing tools and methodologies to drive cost and schedule efficiencies.
- Support multi-shift operations (1st: 7:00 AM–4:45 PM, 2nd: 2:30 PM–Midnight).
- Ensure safety, quality, and delivery standards are consistently met.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of test experience or Master’s degree in STEM.
- Proficient in troubleshooting test equipment, test tooling, and harnesses.
- Familiarity with testing automation or lean testing methodologies.
- Strong technical writing and procedure development abilities.
- Willingness to travel between Goleta and Oxnard sites as needed (up to 10%).
[Preferred Skills]
- 3+ years of specific test engineering experience.
- Proficiency with test automation software such as LabVIEW.
- Experience measuring and controlling electronic components (motors, actuators, sensors).
- Aerospace or aeronautical industry background.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Self-motivated, organized, adaptable, and able to work both independently and in teams.
