BIM Design Lead

Role Overview: As a BIM Design Lead, your primary role will be to lead the architectural BIM delivery engine, ensuring the transformation of conceptual architectural designs into highly accurate, coordinated, and data-rich intelligent models. You will need to balance aesthetic and spatial intent with technical buildability, drive global standard compliance, minimize project turnaround times, and mentor the team to bridge the gap between design and digital execution. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and execute high-quality architectural BIM modeling from schematic design (SD) through construction documentation (CD). - Translate architectural sketches, PDFs, and design concepts into precise, parametric 3D models and comprehensive construction drawings. - Author and manage complex architectural families, templates, and project parameters to ensure model agility and data integrity. - Act as the frontline technical mentor for architectural modelers and junior leads, setting the bar for modeling speed and quality. - Conduct regular internal peer reviews and quality audits to minimize revisions and modeling errors. - Lead the Clash Detection and Resolution process, coordinating proactively with Structural and MEP engineering teams to ensure a completely integrated, clash-free model before field deployment. - Ensure all architectural elements strictly comply with regional and international building codes (e.g., IBC, UK Building Regulations, ADA accessibility standards). - Establish and enforce strict BIM protocols (LOD 100 to LOD 500) aligned with global standards like ISO 19650. Qualifications Required: - 15+ years of core experience in architectural production, with a minimum of 23 years leading architectural BIM project teams. - Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch). - Expert-level command of Autodesk Revit Architecture, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD. - Experience with computational design tools (e.g., Dynamo, Rhino/Grasshopper) for workflow automation is highly preferred. - Ability to deliver high-design aesthetics within tight, billable project timelines. - A proactive problem-solver with crisp and articulate communication skills to effectively translate complex spatial challenges to cross-functional engineering teams.
