GCP Support Engineer (L1 Linux)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated L1 Linux/GCP Support Engineer to provide first-level technical support for our cloud-based infrastructure, focusing primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Linux environments. In this role, you will monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with higher-level engineers to ensure system stability and performance. Key Responsibilities: System Monitoring and Response: Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents and support requests promptly. Troubleshooting and Resolution: Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues involving Linux servers, GCP services, and network connectivity. Escalate more complex problems to higher-level engineers as per escalation protocols. Cloud and System Administration: Assist with configuration and maintenance of GCP services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Networking. Perform basic Linux system administration tasks, including user management, permissions, and file systems. Documentation and Process Adherence: Document all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system. Follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Communication and Collaboration: Provide regular updates and communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and third-party vendors. Collaborate with higher-level engineers to resolve escalated issues. On-Call Support: Participate in shift rotations and provide on-call support as needed for 24/7 coverage.
