RFQ Engineer

Title: RFQ Engineer Qualification: Diploma, BE/B.Tech (Preferably Mechanical Engineering) Experience: 3-10+ Years • 3+ years of experience in leading and driving RFQ bidding activities for similar organisations. Proven expertise in cost estimation • Knowledge in Project Management, Machining Process, Sheet Metal Process, Welding Process, Assembly Process and Special Process • Accomplish the Business objectives by achieving Optimum Costing, Process Design for ease of manufacturing and effective utilization of resources to achieve organisational objectives • Reduce lead time on RFQ submission • Review and implement the optimum costing for all the projects pertaining to Recurring and Non Recurring costs • Review and approve final costing and take decisions for proceeding further or Re-work • Hold meetings with Customers on price negotiation along with Marketing and finalize the quote • Accurate cost estimation to customer specifications and meeting customer needs • Review and take decisions on the first level of feasibility of accepting the projects from the Marketing • Review full pack of the documents and information's required for doing the estimation by discussions with CFT and Customers • Review and take decisions on the final level of feasibility of accepting the projects • Review the raw material requirement with SCM and get the required quotes to update quote master • Conducting the brainstorming sessions and guide the team to arrive at the Process sequence & Time estimation • Review and guide the team in Raw Material cost workout, Bought out items and out sourcing processes etc., • Conducting the review and approval for costing from Head Operations, Finance team & Unit Head • Submit final costing work out to Finance team • Hold daily reviews with the team on the status of pending RC / NRC - RFQs • Ensure availability of full pack of RC estimation with process cycle time for Machining, Sheet metal, Assembly, Special Process and Inspection and also the cost of RM, BOI, Consumables, Packing & logistics • Ensure availability of full pack of NRC estimation with Tools, Jig & Fixture cost for Machining, Sheet metal, Assembly, Special Process & Inspection and with the cost of RM, BOI, Special Equipment and also with the Product development cost • Imbibe and Implement the TQM culture among the entire team • Implement the requirements of Development Projects among entire FAD & Tooling function • Establish and sustain a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment • Identify the appropriate training for the respective roles of team members and coordinate with HR to organise the programmes • Implementation of suggestion given by employees. • Ensure adherence to Business Excellence processes in all activities related to the section • Ensure use of latest technologies and tools for RFQ creation and cost estimation • Attend Brain storming session with EI team to arrive the best optimized process flow. • Use of technology to automate suitable aspects of RFQ
