Software QA engineer (7+ yrs experience)

Role: Software QA Engineer Experience: 5+ Years Location: Remote Hire Type: Contract Job Description We are looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both manual and automation testing, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to design test strategies, identify defects, and support successful product releases. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases. Perform functional, regression, integration, API, performance, and UAT testing. Identify, document, track, and validate software defects using JIRA or similar tools. Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure product quality. Develop and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium, TestNG/JUnit, or similar frameworks. Execute SQL queries for backend data validation. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Prepare test reports and communicate testing progress to stakeholders. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices. Required Skills 5+ years of experience in Software QA (Manual & Automation Testing). Strong experience with Selenium, JUnit/TestNG, or equivalent automation frameworks. Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation scripting. Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools. Good knowledge of SQL for database validation. Hands-on experience with JIRA/Bugzilla and Git. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent QA certification. Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure). Knowledge of security testing and mobile application testing (iOS/Android). Experience with Bitbucket and modern DevOps practices.
