About the role
As a Data Governance Lead Consultant at EY, your role is crucial in enabling governed high-quality and trusted data assets to support analytics compliance and operational processes across modern data platforms. Key Responsibilities: - Implement governance operating models including stewardship roles, issue management, and control frameworks. - Operationalize governance through catalog lineage and workflow tools. - Define standards for business and technical metadata across platforms. - Integrate metadata across ETL, BI, and data platforms for traceability. - Define rules, scorecards, and monitoring mechanisms for data quality. - Implement validation controls across ingestion and transformation pipelines. - Implement data classification, masking, and access control mechanisms. - Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements. - Define retention, archival, and purge policies aligned to regulatory and business requirements. - Act as lead consultant for data governance workstreams within programs. - Support tool evaluation and guide implementation teams. Key Qualifications: - 10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data programs. - Proven experience implementing data governance frameworks, stewardship models, and operating procedures. - Hands-on experience with data governance and catalog tools (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Axon/EDC, Alation, Microsoft Purview). - Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data quality management practices. - Experience defining data policies, standards, and controls aligned to regulatory and compliance requirements. - Familiarity with data privacy, security, and regulatory frameworks impacting data (e.g. GDPR). - Ability to engage with business, data office, and technology stakeholders to drive adoption of governance practices. - Exposure to industry data domains/models (financial services, energy & utilities preferred). - International travel in the region (up to 40%) is required.
