Senior Highway Draftsman

Department: Engineering / Design Experience: 5-10 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Highway Draftsman to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed highway and roadway drawings, coordinating with design engineers, and ensuring all drafting work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed highway, roadway, and infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant design software. Develop plan, profile, cross-section, alignment, and grading drawings for highway projects. Interpret engineering designs, sketches, specifications, and survey data to create accurate technical drawings. Coordinate with Highway Design Engineers and project teams for drawing revisions and updates. Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Maintain drawing registers, document control, and revision management. Assist in quantity calculations and preparation of engineering documentation when required. Ensure timely delivery of drafting outputs as per project schedules. Mentor and guide junior draftsmen and CAD technicians. Participate in project meetings and provide technical drafting support. Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in highway/roadway drafting and design projects. Strong knowledge of highway engineering drawings and standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant drafting software. Experience working on highway, road, bridge, and infrastructure projects. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications. Good communication and coordination skills. Preferred Skills Experience with national and international highway design standards. Knowledge of road geometry, pavement design, drainage, and utility coordination. Familiarity with GIS and BIM tools is an added advantage. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
