Backend Lead-Kochi

Backend Lead Location: Kochi Experience: 47 Years Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Preferred About the Role Mygate is looking for a Backend Lead to drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems that power products used by millions of users. This role is ideal for a strong backend engineer who has demonstrated ownership of complex projects and is ready to take on technical leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers. Prior team leadership or technical lead experience will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.Own end-to-end delivery of backend features from design through deployment and monitoring.Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.Drive technical discussions, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices.Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on long-term solutions.Contribute to improving development processes, code quality, and system architecture.Requirements 47 years of experience in backend software development.Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and modern deployment practices.Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Experience working in Agile development environments.Preferred Qualifications Prior experience as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, or owning large engineering initiatives.Experience designing and scaling high-traffic applications.Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architectures.Experience mentoring developers and driving engineering excellence.What We're Looking For Strong ownership and accountability.Ability to lead by example through technical excellence.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Passion for solving complex engineering challenges.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced product environment.Additional Criteria Candidates must be willing to work from Kochi.Preference will be given to candidates serving a notice period of 1530 days or less.
