Backend Lead Location: Kochi Experience: 47 Years Notice Period: Immediate to 30 Days Preferred About the Role Mygate is looking for a Backend Lead to drive the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems that power products used by millions of users. This role is ideal for a strong backend engineer who has demonstrated ownership of complex projects and is ready to take on technical leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building distributed systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers. Prior team leadership or technical lead experience will be an added advantage. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. - Own end-to-end delivery of backend features from design through deployment and monitoring. - Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions. - Drive technical discussions, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices. - Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability. - Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on long-term solutions. - Contribute to improving development processes, code quality, and system architecture. Requirements - 47 years of experience in backend software development. - Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. - Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications. - Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design. - Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and modern deployment practices. - Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. - Experience working in Agile development environments. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience as a Technical Lead, Team Lead, or owning large engineering initiatives. - Experience designing and scaling high-traffic applications. - Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architectures. - Experience mentoring developers and driving engineering excellence.
