Role OverviewNationwides Technology team is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to lead testing and development initiatives across the organization. The role requires strong leadership, handson expertise in test automation and secure software engineering practices. ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable automated test suites for UI, API, and data layers, including defining automation strategy, frameworks, and tooling.Lead and coach teams on automation patterns, test data strategy, CI/CD integration, and release testing practices.Act as the primary quality lead, coordinating with engineering, product, and release stakeholders to ensure comprehensive riskbased test coverage.Implement defect management, traceability, and alignment to enterprise testing standards.Coordinate test environments, data, and regression suites to support release readiness.Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.Mentor and train team members on design techniques, tools, coding standards, and DevSecOps practices.Drive crosscollaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams, managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.Analyze, develop, test, debug, document, and deploy software according to industry standards.Champion continuous learning and improvement through ongoing training and innovation.Qualifications & Experience8+ years of experience in software development, with a minimum of 4+ years leading test automation strategy in complex environments (Ruby is required).Strong experience with tools such as Tosca, Ruby, Postman, and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins or Concourse).Deep understanding of test data management, environment coordination, and release testing practices.Proven ability to lead quality initiatives within an agile delivery model.Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C++, Python, JavaScript).Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or related field preferred.Additional experience in project management and vendor management is a plus.Knowledge of software security, SDLC, DevSecOps, and cloud computing is desirable.Skills & AttributesStrong communication and collaboration skills.Analytical and problemsolving mindset.Ability to work in agile and global environments.Time management and prioritization.Handson technical leadership and setting technical direction.Ability to thrive in a team environment and tackle sophisticated business challenges.Location & Work HoursReports to Technology Manager/Director India.
