Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer Java Location: Bangalore Reporting To: Team Lead / Group Lead Job Summary We are looking for a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java technologies to design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality applications using Java, J2EE, SQL/Oracle, and related technologies while ensuring adherence to coding standards, quality processes, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities Software Development Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications using Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, EJB, SQL/Oracle, and related technologies. Participate in detailed design discussions, coding, peer code reviews, code walkthroughs, and unit testing. Develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. Ensure compliance with coding standards, software development processes, and quality guidelines. Design & Documentation Prepare and maintain: Software Prototypes System Architecture Documents Software Design Documents (SDD) Technical Documentation Release Documents Installation and Deployment Guides Create flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and technical specifications to support development activities. Develop user interfaces in accordance with UX guidelines. Testing & Quality Assurance Prepare test plans, test cases, and testing documentation. Perform: Unit Testing System Testing Integration Testing Negative Testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support Ensure software quality through rigorous validation and adherence to quality processes. Troubleshooting & Support Analyze application logs and troubleshoot production issues. Perform database query optimization and performance tuning. Investigate and resolve software defects and system-related issues. Support deployments, installations, demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs). Process & Continuous Improvement Conduct system analysis to improve application performance and operational efficiency. Stay updated with emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices. Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous process improvement initiatives. Ensure confidentiality and security of organizational information. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong proficiency in: Java J2EE JSP Servlets EJB SQL / Oracle Database Good understanding of: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Multi-tier Application Architecture Web-Based Application Development Component-Based Architecture System Integration Concepts Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. Functional Skills Application Development System Analysis & Design Software Testing Debugging & Troubleshooting Database Query Optimization Technical Documentation Behavioral Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to delivering solutions First Time Right”. Qualifications BE / B.Tech / MCA / Computer Science Graduate. Preferably: 65% and above throughout academics. Experience 1 to 4 years of experience in software development. Experience working on enterprise application development projects using Java technologies. Additional Requirements Willingness to work from customer locations as per project requirements. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
