About the role
Execute test cases for macOS Electron apps, covering installation, uninstallation, functional flows, and UI. Perform manual testing across different macOS versions (Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey) and hardware (Intel & Apple Silicon). Validate system-level integrations (permissions, notifications, dock, file dialogs). Assist in automation testing using Playwright/WebdriverIO/Appium for desktop. Debug issues by checking console logs, crash reports, and Electron logs. Verify auto-update flows and installer packages (.dmg, .pkg). Collaborate with developers and product teams to reproduce, log, and track defects. Document clear test cases, test reports, and bug reports in Jira/TestRail/Zephyr Key Requirements: . 1+ of QA experience, with exposure to desktop or web applications. Familiarity with macOS environment (app installation, system preferences, permissions). Hands-on experience with manual functional/UI testing. Basic understanding of automation tools (Playwright, WebdriverIO, or Appium). Comfort with command-line tools (bash/zsh) for log collection and simple scripts. Good analytical and debugging skills (reading logs, identifying crashes). Strong communication and documentation skills.
