About the role
As an Engineer in NPD Engineering at the company, your role will involve supporting New Product Development (NPD), design engineering, tooling development, and manufacturing process improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to convert product concepts into manufacturable solutions while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Execute New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept design to final implementation into mass production. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of product development activities. - Design, develop, and improve tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and manufacturing aids. - Prepare, review, and modify 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and engineering documentation. - Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. - Maintain technical documents including design records, engineering change documents, and product specifications. - Experience in preparation and handling of IATF-related documents. - Exposure to manufacturing processes like welding, coatings, fabrication, and customer documentation requirements. Qualification & Experience: - Education: Diploma / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. - Experience: 35 years in NPD, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Product Development roles. Desired Competencies: - Strong ownership and problem-solving mindset. - Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments. - Detail-oriented approach towards design quality and execution. - Commitment to long-term career growth and organizational stability. Additional Details: - Basic awareness of design risk identification and configuration control is preferable. - Understanding of engineering change control and traceability. - Exposure to aerospace documentation discipline is an added advantage.
