About the role
Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in precision manufacturing and MCAD/CAM environments. This role will be responsible for defining manufacturing processes, optimizing cycle times, selecting appropriate tooling, and supporting accurate and fast quotation. The position is critical to improving productivity and building advanced machining capabilities across complex components. Key Responsibilities Process Planning and Optimization The candidate will analyze engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to define optimal manufacturing processes and operation sequences. The role involves reducing cycle time, minimizing setups, and improving efficiency. Analyze 2D drawings and 3D CAD models Define processes such as turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and finishing Develop process routes with clear sequencing and setup planning Reduce cycle time and improve machining efficiency Tooling and Machining Strategy The candidate will select appropriate tools and machining strategies and work closely with tooling partners such as Sandvik Coromants, Kennametal, Seco Tools, and Walter Tools to improve productivity. Select cutting tools, inserts, drill bits, and holders Optimize cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut) Recommend advanced tooling and machining strategies Drive reduction in machining time Cycle Time Estimation and Quotation Support This role will directly support the costing team by providing accurate cycle time estimates and process inputs for quotations. Estimate machining time for RFQs Support costing team with reliable inputs Validate cycle times through trials and production feedback Build and maintain a cycle time database Fixture and Setup Optimization The candidate will improve repeatability and reduce setup time through effective fixture planning. Design or guide fixture and jig development Enable single-setup or reduced-setup machining Improve machine utilization Continuous Improvement The role requires a strong focus on identifying inefficiencies and driving improvements across manufacturing processes. Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements Reduce machining time and cost Train internal teams on machining and tooling best practices Cross Functional Collaboration The candidate will work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and smooth execution. Support new product development and prototyping Provide manufacturability and feasibility inputs Collaborate across teams for efficient execution Required Skills and Competencies Strong experience in CNC machining (VMC, HMC, turning, multi-axis machining) Hands-on experience with MCAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA Experience with CAM tools such as Mastercam, NX CAM, or Powermill Strong knowledge of machining processes and materials (aluminum, steel, alloys) Deep understanding of cutting tools and machining strategies Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Background Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical, or precision manufacturing industries Proven track record in cycle time reduction and process optimization .
