AI Native Engineer

As an AI-Native Engineer at Onelab Ventures, you will be responsible for designing and building AI-first applications where AI is the core foundation, not just a feature. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable AI solutions using LLM-powered systems, AI agents, and intelligent workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Build and deploy AI-native applications using LLMs and GenAI tools - Develop features like chatbots, copilots, and AI assistants - Integrate AI capabilities into production systems - Work with Open AI / Anthropic / Hugging Face APIs - Design and optimize prompts, system instructions, and workflows - Implement function calling and tool usage - Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems - Work with embeddings and vector databases - Handle data ingestion, chunking, and semantic search - Develop scalable backend systems using Python / Node.js - Build APIs and microservices for AI applications - Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability - Develop AI agents and multi-step workflows - Work with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI - Automate complex tasks using AI - Evaluate model outputs and improve accuracy - Reduce hallucinations and optimize prompts - Optimize latency and token cost Required Skills & Qualifications: - Strong proficiency in Python - Experience with APIs and backend development - Good understanding of data structures and system design - Hands-on experience with LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and RAG pipelines - Understanding of embeddings, semantic search, and NLP basics - Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Vector DBs - Familiarity with the Hugging Face ecosystem - Experience with AWS / GCP / Azure - Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines Preferred Qualifications: - Experience building AI SaaS products - Exposure to AI agents / autonomous systems - Start-up or fast-paced environment experience - Basic frontend knowledge (React) is a plus Onelab Ventures offers you the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI-native systems, high ownership and real product impact, a fast learning and growth environment, and the chance to build next-gen AI products.
