Job Title: Business Analyst Department: IFS Luxembourg FA Location: Chennai Education Level: MBA in Finance or equivalent Experience: 7-9 years About Business line/Function: IFS LUX FA BA Position Purpose: The purpose of this role is to translate complex business requirements into detailed functional specifications, ensuring that the delivered solutions align with strategic objectives and operational needs. With 79 years of experience, the incumbent will lead the end-to-end requirement lifecyclefrom discovery and gap analysis to functional design and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)to drive process optimization and system scalability. Responsibilities Direct Responsibilities Performs and coordinates the analysis and design of business systems. Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of the needs of the assigned customer group from the business and technical perspective. Acts as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups. The resource provides analytical, technical, business and management expertise to the group and completes assignments which require this expertise. Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, and detailed functional specifications. This resource will respond and resolve issues beyond standard management requests as well as using independent judgment to make decisions where no clear precedents exist. Communicate progress, risks and change impacts to Stakeholders and management and clientfacing teams. Teical & Behavioral : Financial Accounting Knowledge: Deep understanding of General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, and Month-end Closing processes. Financial Reporting: Ability to design functional requirements for Balance Sheets, P&L statements, and Cash Flow reports. Attention to Detail: In Finance, a decimal point error is a critical failure. The candidate must demonstrate a meticulous approach to requirement documentation. Critical Questioning: The ability to challenge "the way we've always done it" to find a more efficient functional solution. Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities) Technical Skills: E2E Fund Accounting Reconciliation tools/Application MFGA or any Fund accounting experience. Behavioral Skills: Ability to collaborate / Teamwork Ability to deliver / Results driven Communication skills - oral & written Adaptability Specific Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Required: 79 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 5 years specifically focused on Finance/Accounting functional domains. Preferred: MBA or Masters degree in a business or technical discipline.
