Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer - Database Platform and Tools (DB2)

As an individual contributor responsible for the design, configuration, build, implementation, maintenance, and performance of critical database systems, your role will focus on DB2 UDB as the primary platform. Key Responsibilities: - Perform physical database management system design and build to support application development teams - Translate logical data model designs into physical designs and assist with deployment and security configuration - Serve as the primary development database point of contact and liaison to database administration production support teams - Support business-specific projects by applying expertise in subject area and collaborating cross-functionally - Practice self-development and promote learning in others by providing information, resources, advice, and expertise - Leverage DEVOPS, Waterfall, and Agile practices to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure solutions - Support the review of team deliverables and provide recommendations on systems designs - Collaborate with team members to develop project support plans, schedules, and assignments - Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications for designated infrastructure systems - Drive physical database architecture design for new initiatives and ensure adherence to company architecture standards - Lead the implementation of enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure successful deployment and operation - Provide consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field OR Minimum Six (6) years experience in IT operations - Six (6) years of overall IT experience in managing various database technologies - Four (4) years of experience with DB2 UDB database, including High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions - Two (2) years experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting - Three (3) years experience in database administration - Additional qualifications and experience with other database technologies, cloud environments, scripting languages, technical documentation, programming languages, and IT Service Management Process are preferred This detailed job description provides insights into the responsibilities and qualifications required for the role of a database systems specialist.
