Job Summary (List Format) Install, configure, and manage Apache Kafka clusters across development, test, and production environments. Perform Kafka broker installation, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning. Monitor Kafka cluster health, performance, and availability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack. Create and manage Kafka topics, partitions, replication factors, and consumer groups. Troubleshoot Kafka issues including performance bottlenecks, message delays, broker failures, and replication problems. Configure and maintain Kafka security features such as SSL/TLS encryption, SASL authentication, and Access Control Lists (ACLs). Manage Kafka backups, disaster recovery processes, and ensure high availability. Collaborate with application teams to onboard new producers and consumers into the Kafka ecosystem. Optimize Kafka performance by tuning brokers, producers, and consumers. Automate Kafka administrative tasks using Bash, Python, or Shell scripting. Support CI/CD pipelines and deployments involving Kafka infrastructure. Maintain thorough documentation for Kafka architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with organizational security and operational standards. Work with Linux operating systems and have knowledge of networking, SSL certificates, firewalls, and DNS. Utilize containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. Advantageous to have experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Possess knowledge of ZooKeeper (for older Kafka versions) and KRaft mode (for newer Kafka versions).
