About the Role Our client, a respected name in the life insurance sector, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Actuarial Specialist to join their dedicated team in Chandigarh, Chandigarh, IN . This position requires a strong foundation in actuarial principles and a proven ability to apply them to complex life insurance products and valuation. You will play a crucial role in pricing, reserving, and financial modeling, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving strategic decision-making. This is an office-based position, fostering a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain actuarial models for pricing new life insurance products and riders. Perform regular valuation of life insurance liabilities in accordance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Analyze financial data, mortality trends, and morbidity experience to inform actuarial calculations and forecasts. Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Conduct experience studies and analyze assumptions for mortality, lapse, and expenses. Support the product development team by providing actuarial input on new product design and features. Collaborate with the finance, risk, and IT departments on various actuarial projects and initiatives. Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in actuarial science. Perform ad-hoc analysis and modeling as required by management. Contribute to the continuous improvement of actuarial processes and systems. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Successfully passed multiple actuarial examinations (e.g., from Institute of Actuaries of India, SOA, CAS) is highly preferred. Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in actuarial roles within the life insurance industry. Strong understanding of life insurance products, principles of valuation, and financial reporting. Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., Prophet, GGY AXIS, SQL, VBA, R). Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of Indian insurance regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
