Sr. Site Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary : We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Site Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical team. This role requires candidates with prior experience in distillery or evaporator erection projects, excellent technical expertise, and the ability to work in fast-paced project environments. Key Responsibilities : Erection and Installation : Plan, supervise, and execute mechanical erection activities of distillery equipment and evaporators at the site. Ensure accurate assembly, alignment, and installation of equipment as per approved engineering drawings, specifications, and standards. Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders for timely erection completion. Before site start, site survey, kick-off meeting. Commissioning Activities : Lead the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for distillation units, evaporators, and associated systems. Conduct checks and inspections of piping, structural supports, and machinery before start-up. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure smooth commissioning to achieve project performance criteria. Project Coordination and Reporting : Coordinate with Project Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, highlighting potential delays and proposing corrective actions. Attend site meetings and provide updates on erection and commissioning activities. Safety and Quality Assurance : Implement and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines during erection and commissioning phases. Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with standards and project specifications. Maintain proper documentation and records for quality assurance purposes. Supervise and monitor labour, tools, and equipment resources at the site. Manage third-party contractors and ensure effective utilization of resources. Provide technical guidance to the erection and commissioning team. Address any site-related technical challenges and ensure prompt resolution. Collaborate with design and engineering teams for any field modifications. Key Skills and Competencies : Strong understanding of mechanical erection and commissioning processes for distillation plants, evaporators, or similar process plants. Knowledge of piping layouts, equipment alignment, and structural assembly. Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience in managing mechanical subcontractors, manpower, and equipment. Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills. Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control procedures. Completion of Successful erection and pre commissioning activities within defined timelines. Compliance with quality and safety standards. Preferred Qualifications : Qualification : Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience : Minimum 5-10 years of experience in erection of distillation units, evaporators, or similar equipment.
