This position is essential for organizations that leverage SAP’s advanced capabilities to enhance their business processes. The consultant is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining ABAP programs tailored for HANA, ensuring that the solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with best practices. As companies increasingly adopt HANA for its speed and analytics prowess, the role of the SAP ABAP HANA Technical Consultant is integral to facilitating data-driven decision-making and improving overall operational efficiency. The consultant collaborates closely with functional teams to understand requirements, transform them into technical specifications, and deliver high-quality ABAP solutions that meet organizational needs. An experienced consultant in this field not only brings technical expertise but also serves as a strategic partner in driving innovation and maximizing the value derived from SAP investments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement ABAP programs in the HANA environment. Create and optimize data models to leverage HANA capabilities. Develop complex reports using ABAP, CDS views, and Embedded Analytics. Perform code reviews and conduct performance tuning of existing applications. Integrate ABAP solutions with other SAP modules such as SD, MM, and FI. Debug and troubleshoot ABAP programs to resolve technical issues. Collaborate with functional teams to gather and clarify business requirements. Translate functional specifications into technical documentation and ABAP designs. Maintain current knowledge of SAP ABAP programming standards and HANA innovations. Provide technical support and training for end-users and team members. Implement best practices and coding standards in ABAP development. Conduct system testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Lead workshops and training sessions on ABAP HANA development. Assist in SAP upgrades and migration to the HANA platform. Develop and enhance technical documentation related to ABAP programs. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in ABAP programming. Strong experience with SAP HANA and its unique programming paradigms. Proficiency in performance tuning for ABAP in HANA. Experience with data modeling concepts and techniques. Knowledge of SQL and database structures within SAP HANA. Familiarity with SAP development tools such as SE80 and Eclipse. Experience in implementing custom development solutions in various SAP modules. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience in agile methodologies and project management. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Certification in SAP ABAP or HANA is a plus. Understanding of SAP Solution Manager is advantageous. Willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies in SAP. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality deliverables.
