About the role
Role Overview: As a Data Analyst at Standard Chartered, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of new work/project assessments from inception to delivery. Your role will involve building strong working relationships with the chief data office to design and implement specific data requirements based on the bank's data standards. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with project teams, partners, and third-party vendors. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with business users to understand their data analysis needs/requirements and create specifications including clear definition of business value, approach for data extraction, and definition of business rules/logic. - Align with the Bank's Data Quality Management Framework to ensure data quality controls, governance, and compliance are in line with the Data Strategy and Architecture. - Proactively develop use cases for applying data analytics to meet various business needs. - Build data models/scenarios and demonstrate potential insights to the business. - Partner with system and data owners to document Data Standards of critical data attributes. - Perform data quality controls assessment, identify gaps, and follow up with data owners for remediation. - Conduct standard/advanced profiling of data attributes to assess data quality. - Support the transition of data quality and data governance capabilities into business as usual. - Develop a standard set of analytic tools to enable the business to perform data analytics. - Provide data readiness reviews before implementation and manage any arising issues. - Utilize data visualization tools like Microstrategy and Tableau for data storytelling. Qualification Required: - Documentation skills including Data Dictionary, Data Modelling, Data Lineage, Business Rules, DQ Rules, Data Standards, etc. - Experience in report types such as Gap Analysis, Problem Analysis, Completeness Dashboards, etc. - Proficiency in Process/Data Modelling tools like Visio, Enterprise Architect, Erwin. - Strong query language skills including SQL, Hive, HBase, ETL (Dataiku). - Experience with Business Intelligence tools and Decision Support Systems. - Strong data analysis skills using Hive, Spark, Python, R, Microstrategy, and Tableau. - Proven experience in working with key stakeholders, problem-solving, data management, and data quality management techniques. - Stakeholder management, analysis, presentation skills, and data storytelling using visualizations.
