Semantic Data Engineer

Role & responsibilities Job Description Semantic Data Engineer (5+ yrs) Job Location Pune We are looking for a Semantic Data Engineer to support the development and implementation of semantic data processing within the Haystack to other semantics. This role is focused on pragmatic data semantics engineering, not traditional data science or AI/ML. The ideal candidate will develop solutions to help bridge the gap between data modeling, semantic technologies, and real-world system integration, ensuring scalable and efficient use of structured semantic data. Key Responsibilities - Process and transform large semantic datasets into optimized formats for embedded systems. - Work with ontologies (OWL) and semantic data formats such as RDF, JSON-LD, and Turtle. - Develop and implement data transformation pipelines, potentially cloud-based. - Identify and solve integration challenges across systems. - Deliver production-ready solutions beyond proof-of-concept stage. - Collaborate with domain experts and engineering teams. - Enable future AI use cases through structured semantic data. Required Skills & Experience - +5 years of programming experience (using Python or similar programming languages) - Strong understanding of semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL, JSON-LD). - Experience working with ontologies. - Knowledge of SPARQL and semantic data modeling. - Experience in data processing and pipelines. - Programming experience (Python helpful). - Familiarity with enterprise environments (e.g., C#, cloud systems). - Experience with SHACL or RML - Background in Building Automation or HVAC domain is considered a plus.
