BI Tester

As a QA / BI Testing Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of our Business Intelligence solutions. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for BI applications such as data warehouses, ETL pipelines, reports, and dashboards. - Performing functional, regression, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. - Testing ETL processes to ensure correct data extraction, transformation, and loading based on business rules. - Writing SQL queries to validate data transformations, reconcile source vs target data, and verify data quality metrics. - Collaborating with data engineers, BI developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define testing scope and strategy. To excel in this role, you should have: - Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and transformation testing. - Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. - Understanding of ETL tools and processes (Informatica, Talend, Apache Airflow, or similar). - Hands-on experience in ETL testing and data warehouse validation. - Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or QlikView. - Experience with test management tools like Jira, HP ALM, TestRail, or Azure DevOps. - Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts (fact tables, dimension tables, SCDs). Additionally, you should possess: - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple testing activities.
