QA Lead Tester (BI / Data Testing) Location: Pune, Maharashtra (Work from Office) Employment Type: Full-Time Department: QA / Delivery Experience: 56 Years Job Overview We are seeking an experienced QA Lead Tester (BI / Data Testing) to lead quality assurance initiatives for Business Intelligence and Data Engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, ETL Testing, Data Warehouse Validation, and BI Testing, along with experience leading QA teams in data-driven environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of data warehouses, ETL pipelines, reports, dashboards, and enterprise data solutions through effective testing strategies and robust data validation practices. Key ResponsibilitiesQA Leadership Lead QA activities for BI and Data Engineering projects. Define test strategies, test plans, and QA processes. Assign, review, and mentor QA team members. Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices. Serve as the primary QA point of contact for stakeholders. Testing & Quality Assurance Design, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios. Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Validate data across source, staging, and target systems. Conduct ETL testing for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes. Validate BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and business logic. Track defects, maintain documentation, and support root cause analysis. Data Validation Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and reconciliation. Compare and validate data between source and target systems. Ensure data quality, accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness. Perform volume and performance testing on large datasets. Validate aggregations, calculations, and data transformations. Collaboration Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Business Analysts. Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and test planning discussions. Communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders. Maintain test documentation and prepare test summary reports. Support production issue analysis and resolution. Required Skills & Qualifications 56 years of experience in QA, BI Testing, or Data Testing. Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing. Hands-on experience in ETL testing and data warehouse validation. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. Knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Airflow, or similar platforms. Experience with BI tools including Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Looker. Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, including Fact Tables, Dimension Tables, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD). Experience with test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or TestRail. Familiarity with Git or other version control systems. Preferred Skills Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Knowledge of performance testing and query optimization.
