Cisco Network Expert

Location: Oman Employment Type: Onsite Oman Full-Time Contract Experience: Minimum 7 Years Contract Duration: 24 Months Open Positions: 1 About the Role We are seeking an experienced Cisco Network Expert to design, implement, manage, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, security, WAN/LAN, and network optimization. The role requires ensuring high availability, security, performance, and reliability of the organization's network infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams. Key Responsibilities Network Infrastructure Design, configure, implement, and maintain Cisco enterprise network infrastructure. Deploy and manage Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points. Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLANs, VPNs, and enterprise network services. Implement network segmentation and secure connectivity across multiple sites. Network Operations Monitor network availability, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, routing, switching, and hardware issues. Perform root cause analysis for network incidents and implement preventive measures. Provide Level 3 technical support for complex network issues and escalations. Network Security Configure and maintain Cisco security solutions, including firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems. Implement network security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational security policies. Monitor and respond to network security events and vulnerabilities. Support security audits and vulnerability remediation activities. Performance & Optimization Optimize network performance through capacity planning, bandwidth management, and traffic analysis. Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to support critical business applications. Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements. Ensure high availability and redundancy using enterprise networking best practices. Backup & Disaster Recovery Develop and maintain network backup and disaster recovery procedures. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives. Ensure network configurations are regularly backed up and recoverable. Documentation & Compliance Maintain detailed network documentation, topology diagrams, configuration records, and standard operating procedures. Document network changes following established change management processes. Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration Work closely with infrastructure, database, cybersecurity, and application teams to deliver integrated IT solutions. Support infrastructure projects, deployments, and technology upgrades. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware support and maintenance. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise Cisco networking environments. Strong hands-on experience with: Cisco Routers Cisco Switches Cisco Firewalls Cisco Wireless Solutions LAN/WAN Technologies VLANs VPNs Routing Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) Network Security Experience in troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, QoS, and network protocols. Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
