About the role As a Software Development Engineer II Python Full Stack, you will work with the Software Engineering team on Tor.ais Industrial IoT software platforms. This is a Python-heavy full-stack role with focus on backend services, APIs, telemetry data processing, dashboards, reports, analytics modules and customer-facing product features. You will develop Python-based backend services, data-processing logic and integrations, while also supporting frontend dashboard development using Angular / JavaScript-based technologies. The role requires strong coding logic, hands-on Python development experience, database understanding, debugging ability and ownership to deliver reliable software modules with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain scalable backend services, APIs and application modules using Python. Build data-processing logic for IoT telemetry, device data, reports, alerts and analytics. Support frontend dashboard development using Angular / JavaScript-based frontend technologies. Design and develop REST APIs, backend logic, integration services and data workflows. Work with SQL Server / PostgreSQL and MongoDB for data storage, retrieval and processing. Develop features for dashboards, analytics platforms, customer applications and internal tools. Optimize API performance, data-processing logic, database queries and application response time. Debug frontend, backend, API, database, data-processing and production-level issues in a structured manner. Support integration between frontend applications, backend services, databases, device data and cloud systems. Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, release validation and technical documentation. Collaborate with product managers, architects, senior engineers, QA, firmware, implementation and support teams. Follow software development processes, Git discipline, sprint discipline, documentation standards and release practices. Technology Exposure Frontend: Angular, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, CSS, responsive UI development, dashboard screens and component-based frontend development. Backend: Python, FastAPI / Flask / Django, REST APIs, backend services, data-processing logic, authentication and authorization basics. Database: SQL Server / PostgreSQL, MongoDB, stored procedures, query optimization, data modelling basics and large-scale data handling. Dashboards & Analytics: Telemetry data processing, reports, alerts, trend analysis, charts, filters, analytics calculations and data-heavy application workflows. Tools & Platforms: Git / GitHub / Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Postman, debugging tools, logging tools and deployment basics. Added Advantage: Industrial IoT platforms, MQTT basics, Azure cloud exposure, cloud deployment and monitoring, Redis caching, Docker basics, message brokers, event-driven systems, real-time data processing and scalable architecture patterns. Required Skills Strong programming skills in Python with good understanding of data structures, object-oriented programming and application flow. Hands-on experience in backend API development using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask or Django. Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, authentication basics and frontend-backend integration. Working knowledge of SQL databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL. Working exposure to MongoDB or willingness to work on NoSQL data models. Basic frontend exposure in Angular, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML and CSS. Ability to write clean, readable, modular and maintainable code. Ability to debug issues across frontend, backend, API, database and data-processing layers. Good understanding of query optimization, performance improvement and basic scalability considerations. Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to understand requirements and convert them into working software features. Ability to work independently on assigned modules with minimal supervision. Good communication, documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills. Willingness to learn Industrial IoT domain concepts, device data flows and product architecture. Preferred Profile B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics, MCA, MSc IT or equivalent qualification. 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Python-based software development / full-stack development. Hands-on experience in Python, REST APIs, SQL databases and MongoDB. Exposure to Angular, JavaScript / TypeScript or similar frontend technologies will be preferred. Experience in dashboards, analytics platforms, IoT platforms, enterprise applications, product-based companies or data-heavy applications will be useful. Exposure to Azure, Redis, Docker, MQTT, message queues or event-driven systems will be an added advantage. Candidates who are strong in coding logic, debugging, ownership and product understanding. Candidates who are stable, learning-oriented and interested in growing within a product engineering organization over the long term.
