The Manager, Technical Product Management is a product leader within the Optum AI organization, accountable for leading product capabilities within a product portfolio by translating customer and business needs into actionable product solutions. Operating at the intersection of business, engineering, and delivery, this role drives feature prioritization, roadmap execution, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration while balancing customer experience, business outcomes, and technical feasibility. The role leverages customer insights and product performance metrics to enhance product value and adoption. It applies solid product-management discipline, business acumen, and technical aptitude to deliver measurable product outcomes, and serves as a trusted partner to engineering, business, and delivery teams. This position leads capability-level outcomes and may mentor junior product team members, with impact most often felt at the product or capability level. Primary Responsibilities: Product Planning & Feature DeliveryDrive feature and capability planning aligned to product strategy, roadmap, and OKRsPartner with engineering teams to define requirements, user stories, and product backlog prioritiesTranslate customer insights into actionable product enhancements and solutionsManage prioritization and trade-offs across customer experience, business requirements, operational needs, and technical limitationsCross-Functional Collaboration & DeliveryCollaborate with business, technology, and delivery stakeholders to ensure successful product deliverySupport Agile product delivery processes using tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Rally, GitHub, and DevOps practices Lead cross-functional meetings and positively influence capability outcomesPartner with design and engineering to shape the user experience and drive product adoption through customer-focused product management practicesCustomer & Stakeholder FocusBuild strong customer and stakeholder relationships, serving as a front-facing product representativeChampion customer-centric product development, driving adoption and value realization at the capability levelPerformance & Operational ManagementMonitor feature-level budgets, roadmap execution, and product performance metricsUse data and performance insights to inform prioritization and continuous product improvementTeam & TalentMentor junior product team members and contribute to hiring and talent-development activitiesContribute to the adoption of product-management best practices within the teamComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do soRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field10+ years with latest (most recent) 5+ years in product management, including capability or feature-level leadershipExperience may include software engineering or programmer roles in early years of careerExperience in product management, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecyclesExperience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Rally, GitHub, and DevOps practicesSolid understanding of product roadmaps, backlog management, feature prioritization, and customer-centric product developmentKnowledge of end-to-end solution architecture, data flows, and integration conceptsProven solid analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skillsProven growth mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic and ambiguous environmentsProven ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: Experience delivering AI/ML, Generative AI, or data-driven products within a product portfolioExperience with cloud-native delivery on Azure / Optum Cloud, including data pipelines and platform integrationExperience supporting AI products from POC through delivery and .
