Senior Officer

Job Purpose To develop, establish, and validate manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring smooth product launch with required quality, cost, and delivery targets. Key Responsibilities 1. New Product Introduction (NPI) Lead process planning activities for new product development. Analyze product drawings and specifications to define manufacturing feasibility. Participate in APQP activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Coordinate with design, RD, and customer teams during product development stage. 2. Process Development Develop manufacturing processes, line layouts, and work instructions. Define process flow, PFMEA, and control plans. Identify tooling, equipment, and manpower requirements. Ensure process capability meets quality standards. 3. Trial Validation Plan and execute proto builds, pilot runs, and production trials. Validate process capability (Cp, Cpk) and product quality. Identify gaps during trials and implement corrective actions. Support PPAP submission and approval. 4. Tooling Equipment Coordination Coordinate with tooling and maintenance teams for tool readiness. Support fixture and equipment development aligned with process needs. Ensure installation and commissioning of new machines or lines. 5. Quality Cost Optimization Ensure defect-free product launch and adherence to customer requirements. Drive cost reduction initiatives through process improvement. Optimize cycle time, material flow, and manpower utilization. 6. Documentation Compliance Prepare SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation. Maintain records related to NPI, trials, and validation. Ensure compliance with ISO / IATF / customer standards. 7. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design teams. Act as the key interface between product design and manufacturing. Provide technical support during initial production ramp-up. Required Skills Competencies Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, assembly, machining, etc.). Experience in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan. Good understanding of GDT and engineering drawings. Problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, Kaizen, Lean). Familiarity with CAD tools and process simulation (added advantage). Strong project management and coordination skills. Qualifications Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
