About the internship: Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Operating our Kubernetes clusters (GKE) across dev, staging, and production networking, autoscaling, and access control between environments. 2. Owning our Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code setup modules, PR-triggered plans, and safe patterns for changes that touch shared infrastructure. 3. Building and maintaining containerized services with Docker, and owning our GitHub Actions pipelines end-to-end from PR to production, without manual babysitting. 4. Owning the machine learning infrastructure behind our products autoscaling inference workloads and rolling out model changes safely. 5. Operating our databases backups, restore drills, connection pooling, and performance tuning under real load. 6. Building observability from the ground up logging, metrics, and alerting so we find out about problems from a dashboard, not from a school. 7. Being the first responder when production breaks, and writing blameless postmortems so the same failure doesn't happen twice. 8. Reducing operational load over time by finding repeat pain points and killing them with automation, not more process. 9. Keeping an eye on cloud spend and managing it as you go.
