QA Engineer

About the internship: Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Design, write, and maintain test cases (manual and automated) for new features before and after they ship 2. Perform the full range of testing types as needed: smoke testing, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, UI testing, load and stress testing, security testing, and fuzz testing 3. Set up and maintain automated test suites (UI, API, and/or end-to-end) to catch bugs before they reach production 4. Log, triage, and track bugs clearly reproducible steps, expected vs actual behavior, severity/priority and work with engineers until they're resolved 5. Review product specs and designs early to flag edge cases, ambiguous requirements, and potential failure points before code is written 6. Build and maintain test plans for major releases, including risk assessment of what needs the most coverage 7. Test across different devices, browsers, screen sizes, and network conditions to catch environment specific issues 8. Collaborate closely with developers and product managers in sprint planning, standups, and release cycles 9. Perform API testing (request/response validation, edge cases, error handling) where relevant 10. Monitor production for bugs post-release and help with root-cause analysis 11. Continuously improve testing processes, tooling, and coverage as the product grows 12. Experience testing on mobile (iOS/Android) or with device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs) 5. Exposure to security/penetration testing tools beyond basics 6. Experience setting up test environments or working with staging/production parity issues 7.
