RJob Description - Automation / API Engineer Cisco SDA Job type: Contract - Onsite - Hyderabad or Bangalore Year of Experience +3 - 7 years Role Overview The Automation / API Engineer (Cisco SDA) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions and API integrations for Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) environments. The role focuses on reducing manual operations, enabling infrastructure-as-code, and integrating Cisco DNA Center with enterprise platforms to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Automation Development Develop and maintain automation frameworks and scripts for SDA environmentsAutomate:Device onboarding (PnP)Configuration deploymentFabric provisioningPolicy implementationImplement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices API Integration Build integrations using:Cisco DNA Center APIs , Cisco ISE APIsAutomate workflows such as:Fabric creation and expansion , Endpoint onboardingPolicy provisioningIntegrate with enterprise systems:ITSM tools (ServiceNow), Monitoring platforms (Splunk, NMS tools) Cisco SDA Automation Automate key SDA components:Underlay/overlay provisioning ,Virtual Networks (VN)Scalable Group Tags (SGT) and policiesUse DNA Center features:Templates (CLI / Velocity),Software Image Management (SWIM)Plug-and-Play (PnP) Data & Telemetry Automation Extract and process data from:DNA Center APIs, Network devicesAutomate:Health checks, Performance reportingClient analyticsIntegrate data into dashboards (Splunk or similar) CI/CD & DevOps Develop CI/CD pipelines for automation codeUse Git for version controlPerform testing and validation (pre/post checks)Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams Documentation Maintain:API documentation , Automation scripts and workflowsOperational runbooks Required Technical Skills Programming & APIs Strong experience with: Python (mandatory)Knowledge of: REST APIs, JSON, YAMLFamiliarity with API authentication (tokens, OAuth) Cisco SDA & DNA Center Hands-on experience with:Cisco DNA Center APIs ,SDA architecture (Edge, Control, Border nodes)Understanding of:VXLAN and LISP fundamentals ,Network segmentation (VN, SGT) Automation Tools Experience with: Ansible (preferred) ,Terraform (nice to have)Exposure to: Dnacentersdk ,pyATS / Genie Networking Knowledge Strong understanding of:TCP/IP, VLANs, routing (OSPF, BGP)Familiarity with enterprise campus networks DevOps & Integration Experience with: Git (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket) ,CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) Monitoring & Data Integration Experience integrating with:Splunk or similar platformsKnowledge of telemetry and monitoring APIsMust Have 10+ years of overall networking experience 34 years of hands-on SDA (Software-Defined Access) experience A minimum CCNP certification CCIE certification preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering (or equivalent experience)Certifications (Preferred) Cisco DevNet Associate / ProfessionalCCNA / CCNP EnterprisePython / Automation certifications Experience 37 years in:Network engineering or automationMinimum:2+ years in API development / automationSDA / DNA Center experience preferred #cisco #sda #api #ccna #devnet#programming&apis #ciscosda&dna #automationtools #networkingknowledge #devops&integration interested resources may share your profiles to info@visionqual.com RJob Description - Automation / API Engineer Cisco SDA Job type: Contract - Onsite - Hyderabad or Bangalore Year of Experience +3 - 7 years Role Overview The Automation / API Engineer (Cisco SDA) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions and API integrations for Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) environments.
