Brand Technology Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA - hybrid

As an Engineer, you will bring your expertise in content, asset, and data management to support teams to identify functional requirements and, ultimately, design, develop and implement Brand Technology solutions. You will be a leader in the Brand Technology domain as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will work closely with a Technology Manager, using your experience and knowledge to support a team of Engineers though their day-to-day process, and provide an escalation point for production concerns. You will be part of an Agile production release team and perform on-call support functions as needed. As an Engineer, you would be a primary caretaker of production systems and would maintain a deep understanding of how delivered products are functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the engineering practice for teams using the core technologies of Brand Technology, including: Nuxeo Digital Asset Management, NXQL, Polymer, Salesforce Grants Management, AWS (DevOps, Elasticsearch, and S3 Buckets), JavaScript, Java, Snowflake, Databricks, CI/CD, Python/ PySpark, Kafka, Apigee, Datadog, Kubernetes

Champion an architecture-first approach to problem-solving, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions across Brand Technology initiatives

Actively contribute to and facilitate Agile ceremonies, driving alignment and prioritization across the team

Support an empowered culture through sharing best practices and fostering an inclusive supportive team environment

Perform and delegate engineering assignments to ensure production readiness is maintained

Conduct research and leverage data insights to influence engineering decisions, optimization efforts and product troubleshooting

Conduct research to guide product development and tools selection

Provide an escalation point and participate in on-call support rotations

Actively monitor key metrics and report on trends

Participate in our Engineering Community of Practice

Contribute to engineering automation, management or development of production level systems

Contribute to project engineering design and standards verification

Perform reliability monitoring and support as needed to ensure products meet guest expectations

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelors degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible

  • Five to eight+ years of engineering experience

  • Ability to learn, understand, and work quickly with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space

  • Experience with major Asset and Content Management tools

  • Experience and deep understanding of digital asset management concepts, workflows, best practices, metadata management, and taxonomy design.

  • Experience with core technologies of Brand Technology, including: Nuxeo Digital Asset Management, NXQL, Polymer, Salesforce Grants Management, AWS - DevOps and S3 Buckets, JavaScript, Java, Snowflake, Databricks, CI/CD, Python/ PySpark, Kafka, Apigee, Datadog, Kubernetes

  • Experience using compute, networking, storage, and database components in one of the major cloud platforms: Amazon AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure (preferred), GCP or Alibaba Cloud

  • Advanced application of CI/CD principles and best practices

  • Experience with industry standards and best practices related to data compliance, security, and privacy, ensuring systems and solutions adhere to regulatory requirements.

  • Experience with technical debt prioritization and roadmap planning with Product Management

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction be a self-starter with strong initiative, and ability to manage/execute workload to deliver high quality results

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism in working collaboratively at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
