Job Description
Client has an IBM mainframe that runs mission a critical app which is their claims adjudication system. They make changes to the claims system so that claims adjudicate at first pass so that a processor doesn't have to process them. Periodic reviews that happen and they have to make routine updates. All medical claims adjudication apps are in COBOL so these are mission critical applications.
This person is just going to be responsible for the applications side and not systems administration. This person should be familiar with COBOL programming specifically on a mainframe. This person should also be able to communicate the business side of a payer and the claims adjudication process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Personality – someone who has a lot of confidence in their technical abilities and feels like they can figure it out. They are not looking for someone who will be tentative about everything and can't make decisions. BCBS wants someone that can set a plan and act on those actions. Mentorship for the other team member would be key as well.
