SCDMV employs a multi-tiered architecture in its core business systems.

· The Business application tier utilizes MicroFocus Visual COBOL running under IIS on MS Windows 2022 servers.

· This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing SCDMV application framework.

· Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all SCDMV business areas.

· This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .NET applications (VB.NET, C#.NET) and the database tiers in both SQL and ORACLE. production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required.

· This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions.

· Communications skills must be excellent.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

· Analyze the SCDMV Phoenix II, Web Service, and batch business applications

· Take the lead in analyzing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems

· Propose solutions

· Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements.

· Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager.

Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

· Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS.

· Development using Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger

· Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).

Preferred Skills (rank in order of Importance):

· Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.

· IIS configuration/setup

· Microsoft C# .NET

Required Education:

· Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience.

Required Certifications:

· Not required but MS technical certifications will be factored in the selection process.

· Microfocus Certifications are a significant advantage

Required Skills

1. 8 years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS.

2. 4 years of Development using Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger

3. 4 years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
