Full Stack Developer – Healthcare Systems /MMIS – Columbia, SC - Onsite

Location: On-site, South Carolina (5 days/week)

Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential extension

Interview Process: 1 round, virtual/online

Candidate Requirement: Must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate at own expense prior to start

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer – Healthcare Systems consultant to join a large-scale Eligibility and Enrollment Member Management Project. This is a new position on a highly skilled team that includes business analysts, technical leads, quality managers, system integrators, and enterprise services professionals.

The role is hands-on and requires strong expertise in modern development frameworks, cloud platforms, and healthcare-related systems.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the on-site software developer for the project

Design, develop, and maintain applications using Python or Java/J2EE , JavaScript , NodeJS , ReactJS/Angular , and SQL/No-SQL databases

Build and maintain REST APIs using Django/Fast API

Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) with modern technologies ( JavaScript, Angular, Python, etc.)

Write and optimize complex SQL queries and reports

Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, technical leads, and vendors to meet project goals

Troubleshoot, profile, and resolve software defects

Contribute in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery environments

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or 5+ years equivalent industry experience)

5+ years of technical experience with:

Python

JavaScript/Angular/ReactJS

JSON, REST APIs (Django/Fast API)

SQL/No-SQL databases

Medicaid system project experience

Strong SQL development skills

Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms

Proven ability to troubleshoot and fix software defects

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare insurance principles and processes

• Experience with Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)

• Development experience with Django or similar Python frameworks

• UI/UX certification or strong front-end design experience

• Experience with Rules Engines
