This role is with our App Growth & Strategy team, which promotes the Best Buy mobile app to our customers through BestBuy.com and other channels, and by building and maintaining app-exclusive functionality. At this time, we are seeking a senior engineer with extensive web experience and the ability to jump into a variety of different technologies, tools, and systems with ease.

Position Summary/Job Description:

• Define requirements and lead the development, integration, testing, and support of features on BestBuy.com and the Best Buy mobile app

• Evaluate new software technologies (i.e., libraries, frameworks, services) that help development to stay abreast of industry trends and standards

• Take ownership of the software we build as a team, with a focus on delivering the best possible customer experience.

• Coordinate with engineers in other teams to define API contracts, establish working relationships, and debug problems across services

• • 7+ years of hands-on experience in:

• o Development with React in JavaScript and/or TypeScript

• o Using REST APIs and/or GraphQL

• o DevOps automation tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins), software version control (git), and testing frameworks

• What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?

• • 10+ years of relevant professional experience

• • 5+ years experience with mobile app development, particularly React Native

• • 2+ years experience as a senior engineer/team lead, including mentoring and coaching more junior engineers
