Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Engineer, Custom Application & Integration to lead the design, development, integration, and maintenance of custom-built applications while ensuring seamless connectivity with enterprise systems. This role is critical to our digital transformation efforts and requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor a team of developers and integration specialists within an implementation partner team.

Set priorities, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of new team members.

Custom Application Development

Oversee the full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Translate business needs into technical specifications in collaboration with stakeholders and business analysts.

Architect secure, scalable, and maintainable applications using modern technologies and frameworks.

Enforce coding standards, version control practices, and deployment procedures.

Integration Strategy & Execution

Develop and execute strategies to integrate custom applications with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, third-party APIs).

Utilize tools and platforms such as ETL tools, API gateways, messaging queues, and ESBs.

Ensure data security, integrity, and performance across systems.

Monitor integrations and troubleshooting issues promptly.

Technical Leadership & Innovation

Provide direction on tools, methodologies, and best practices in application development and integration.

Keep current with emerging technologies and assess their fit for organizational use.

Promote innovation and continuous improvement in custom solutions.

Participate in architectural reviews and recommend technical improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

Communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Collaborate cross-functionally with business units, IT, and security teams.

Manage stakeholder expectations and report on project status regularly.

Assist in planning, budgeting, and estimating project timelines.

Documentation & Standards

Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for applications, integrations, and APIs.

Define and enforce development and integration standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• 10+ years of experience in custom application development and integration, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript).

• Expertise in integration techniques (e.g., RESTful APIs, SOAP, ETL, message queues).

• Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as SAP.

• Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and related integration services.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Skills

• Experience with SAP BTP and related integration tools.

• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of application and integration security best practices.

• Understanding data governance and data quality management.
