About the role
Primary Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Application Development
Developing Java-based front-end and back-end applications
Building custom code and web services
Creating seamless system integrations
Supporting new technology initiatives
Testing & Troubleshooting
Performing unit testing for newly developed code
Supporting system testing efforts
Troubleshooting defects, errors, and system issues
Documentation & Repository Management
Maintain technical documentation including:
Data dictionaries
Source-to-target mappings
Database policies and guidelines
Source code repositories
Security Compliance
Collaborating with the City's Cyber Command team
Supporting application security accreditation processes
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Candidates must have experience with:
Java & Application Development
Java Spring Boot Framework
Java-based application development
Cloud-ready application development
API & Integration Technologies
RESTful web services
SOAP web services
Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
WSDL creation
Database & SQL Experience
8+ years of SQL development experience
Strong knowledge of database solutions
SQL development, optimization, and troubleshooting
Experience with :
Oracle
Microsoft SQL Server
MySQL
PostgreSQL
RDS
Data Operations
Experience with :
Copying, transferring, manipulating, and automating data processes
Replacing manual data operations with automated solutions
Master Data Management (MDM) tools and components
