Job Details:
Job Title: Senior Application Programmer (Power Platform Developer)
Duration: 2 years with possible extension
Location: Remote – Baton Rouge
The scope of the proposed services will include the following:
• Application Development & Solution Design
· Design, build, and maintain Power Platform solutions including:
o Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps
o Power Pages
o Power Automate cloud flows and approvals
o On-Prem and Cloud RDBMS and Dataverse data models, business rules, and security roles
o Power BI reports and dashboards
· Translate business and program requirements into scalable technical solutions.
· Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with OTS standards.
· Provide knowledge transfer and training to in-house developers.
• Integration & Architecture
· Integrate Power Platform solutions with:
o Microsoft 365 services
o Dynamics 365 (where applicable)
o Azure services
o External systems via connectors and APIs
· Apply best practices for:
o Performance
o Scalability
o Maintainability
• Governance, Security & Compliance
· Implement:
o Role-based security
o Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
o Environment strategies
· Ensure solutions comply standards and applicable federal and state regulations including:
o Security
o Privacy
o Accessibility
· Support:
o Audits
o Documentation
o Technical reviews
• Collaboration & Leadership
· Work closely with:
o Business stakeholders
o Project managers
o Architects
o Other developers
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to:
o Junior developers
o Citizen developers
· Participate in:
o Solution reviews
o Code reviews
o Architecture discussions
• Innovation & Emerging Capabilities
· Evaluate and pilot new Power Platform features and capabilities.
· Copilot Studio experience (plus):
o Assist in designing conversational AI solutions and virtual agents
o Support use cases such as:
§ Knowledge retrieval
§ Case intake
§ Internal support automation
Mandatory Skills & Experience
· 5+ years of experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including:
o Power Apps
o Power Automate
o On-Prem and Cloud RDBMS
o Dataverse
o Power BI
· 5+ years of strong experience in:
o Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
o Environment strategy (Dev / Test / Prod)
o Deployment and troubleshooting
o Security and role-based access control
o SQL Queries
· 5+ years of experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical designs.
· Ability to work independently across multiple projects in a shared-services environment.
Desired / Preferred Skills
· Experience with Copilot Studio or conversational AI platforms.
· Experience working in government, public sector, or regulated environments.
· Experience with MS SQL Server.
· Familiarity with:
o Dynamics 365
o Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, etc.)
o DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform
· Microsoft Certifications such as:
o Power Platform Developer
o Power Platform Solution Architect
